Time: Fall 2017 (2 weeks) The Other Day is an interactive VR fishing experience focusing on storytelling. The guest goes fishing with "father" and develop emotional connections with him through the events in the game. The guest realizes that the time spending with father is actually the past memory of theirs at the end of the experience. |
The GalleryA themed VR Artistic Experience in HTC ViveRole: Game designer and programmer (Group of 5)
Time: Fall 2017 (3 weeks) The Gallery is a VR artistic experience where the guest could walk into famous works of art and be able to interact with different objects and recreate the paintings. |
Slay the RunwayA Kinect Rhythm Posing GameRole: Game designer and programmer (Group of 4)
Time: Fall 2017 (1 weeks) In Slay the Runway, the guest is a fashion newbie going on their runway debut, during which they needs to follow the poses on the hint board and hit the pose on rhythm. |
EnigmaA Table-top Role-playing Game with Digital Props (App) SupportRole: Game programmer/App developer (Group of 6)
Time: Spring 2018 (Semester-long) Enigma is an immersive tabletop role-playing experience that sets the guests back during the World War II Blitz period. In reenactment of a female code breaker, the guests will be collaborating as a team, and deciphering Enigma-like puzzles to discover constructive information and experiencing emotional role-playing activities with the support of digital props (powered by mobile apps). |
SquarrelAn HTC Vive VR Throwing GameRole: Game designer and programmer (Group of 5)
Time: Fall 2017 (2 weeks) Squarrel is a room-scale, 360-degrees throwing game where the guest embodies the character of a furious mother squirrel protecting her frantic baby from a mischievous human boy. The boy reaches his hands into the treehouse and attempts to capture the baby, to which the guest responds by hurling bullet-speed acorns as an act of protection. |
SimtopiaA VR space station building sandbox with first-person simulationRole: Game designer and programmer (Group of 5)
Time: Fall 2018 (Semester-long) Simtopia is a research project of 5 people with a knack for cooking up crazy ideas. The team worked with a development team at Electronic Arts - Maxis Studio to create gaming experience utilizing virtual reality and empowering player creativity and emergent storytelling. The team experimented and iterated a lot of their ideas along the way and the final prototype was a sandbox building game with first-person VR simulation elements in the space station. |
PetalA Hololens AR Guided Meditative ExperienceRole: Game designer and programmer (Group of 5)
Time: Fall 2017 (2 weeks) Petal gives the guest an outdoor meditative experience in AR where the guest could gaze at different creatures in the scene and make them come into life following a flying flower petal. |
